If there were a page that best epitomized why I LOVE lists of links (and why I viscerally HATE the way webcocks have turbo-shat on the genre), this would be Exhibit A.

Based on a quick spot check, there’s about two months of unbelievably interesting reading behind that page. (e.g., no way — this was real?!?)

But — spoiler alert — there’s precious little about soaking your dishes, giving zen hugs, or supercharging your turbocharger.

For someone who will probably never get knuckle tattoos, I spend an inordinate amount of time considering what I would get. The limit of letters really forces creativity. I only believe in using 8 letter words or 4 and 4. Squeezing more in or leaving spaces is CHEATING. This is a collection of ones I’ve found around the net and love.

Recipie for a great Saturday night.

Get yourself invited to a masquerade themed murder party

Spend a couple of evenings working on your mask and costume. (Thats my finished mask pictured above)

On the Saturday, don’t have your morning tea or in fact any water. Instead, have several cups of coke.

During the day, sweat profusely from the extreme heat. Drink more cups of coke.

During the early evening, realise you have an hour to get ready. Throw on several layers of synthetic clothing and top it off with your magnificent gold corset. Now here is the important bits. literally, run from end to end of the house getting ready and then into the bathroom to fix up the hair.

Wake up on the hard stone floor.

Realise you fainted and you know have a lump on the back of your head.

Feel queasy.

Have a friend scare you with talk of concussion.

You now can’t drive anywhere. You have let down the organiser of the murder party.

Stay in and watch some QI

You are an idiot.

Attn QLD tumblrs: Sign this petition requesting the introduction of an R18+ classification for computer games in Queensland.

I don’t even care if you play games or not; if you find it objectionable that a single deeply conservative South Australian AG (via what is essentially a series of legal loopholes) currently dictates what adult Australians are allowed to see, then go and sign now, it only takes a second.

This isn’t a bogus online petition, it’s an official parliamentary petition sponsored by a sitting MP, and enough signatures will actually have an effect.

This Saturday I’m attending a masquerade themed murder party. A local theatrical group run these as fundraisers occasionally. The money goes to running drama camps for kids. They are a lot of fun and costuming is key.

Now I have my character sheet I’ve started working on my outfit and more importantly, my mask. If there was any way I could make masks and accessories like this for a living, I would LEAP at that opportunity. I love this shit, I love it haaard. I promise I’ll post pictures.
